A War on War Metaphor

Previous studies show that public discourse and social media around the Covid-19 pandemic heavily use war framing, despite fact its misuse inaptness to elaborate all aspects of were already noted. This paper analyses conceptual metaphors in Croatian (social) on pandemic, focusing metaphor. Using a specialized corpus manually chosen relevant texts Croatian, compiled for this purpose, we investigate how frequent framing is compared alternative figurative framings. In qualitative analysis, outline inferential structure concept discuss structure, function, (in)aptness metaphor circumstances. Additionally, by detecting other source frames used discourse, offer other, possibly more apt (or less resisted) options – or so-called menu designed specifically language based data.
